Staff Accountant

Job Description


The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services. This includes processing and monitoring expenditures, maintaining accurate and completeness of accounting records.

Responsibilities:

  • General ledger reconciliation, including posting transactions and categorizing records
  • Reconciliation of bank statements
  • Close month end records and reports
  • Assist in the processing of invoices and coding payment documents
  • Cash management entries
  • Prepare financial reports related to accounts receivable and payable activities and perform related follow-up such as reconciliation, adjusting transactions/credits, and reviewing refunds for customer’s accounts
  • Maintain fixed assets software
  • Assist with weekly check runs
  • Adhere to the confidentiality of the company, customer and personnel information
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Possess excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; very good with spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of accounting information system a plus

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience in construction or manufacturing industry
  • Experience in construction or manufacturing job cost is preferred

Work Environment/Physical Abilities:

The physical abilities of this position require the employee to be able to frequently sit, stand, climb, low level work, reaching, bending, and trunk movements. Also may require carrying, pushing/pulling, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking. Lifting requirements may include up to 30 pounds. Traveling is an essential requirement of this position to ensure implementation of Staff Accountant functions.
